ways-to-save-money-on-vegetablesIt is a pending article, I thought to write long time back. It has high relevance at this time as the vegetable price index skyrocketing which forces standard families to add extra money to their monthly budget to spend over vegetables. Certainly, the increasing vegetables prices can imbalance the budget of families to a great extend. Considering some tips mentioned below would help the families in Bangalore to get perfect deal when buying vegetables.

1. Prefer Bulk Buying - Buying vegetables day to day eats up lots of money. Retail shop owners never have price indexes or price tags on the items they are selling. To avoid circumstances that lead to money lose, Identify most frequently using vegetables and groceries then buy bulk from wholesale markets. Decide the amount to buy depends on the storage capacity each family have. A purchase that would be sufficient for a week or bi-week is a good option to deal with day today changing vegetable prices.

2. Say NO to non-seasonal items - There are non-seasonal items in vegetables too. As a sensible consumer, you should be able to identify what are the seasonal and non-seasonal vegetables. Non-seasonal items generally comes with higher price tags. Identify such items and avoid buying the same in an off season time. This would save lots of money. For example, prices of raw mango would be 4 to 5 times higher at the time of off-season or at the time of start of its season.

3. Buy from local Cart Sellers - In our city, people selling vegetables in a cart is very common. They are frequently available in residence areas and main housing colonies. Cart sellers identified as a good source to get vegetables in a comparatively low prices. They are even ready to give items in a bargaining price to the regular buyers. Cart sellers are the preferred option for housewives to approach and buy vegetable if they prefer to buy the same day to day basis than storing as whole for a or two week.

4. Choose Hypermarkets carefully - Advantages of hypermarkets are, all the items are available and can pick depends on your requirement and amount. Biggest disadvantage is the prices. It would generally higher compare with local shops. However, people can find deal prices if visit multiple hyper markets. My personal practice is, I never purchase all the items from super or hyper markets. Instead, I have a list of items that regularly uses in my family and have idea on where the best prices available among the supermarkets in our area. As per this, I have grouped items in the list and visit the particular hypermarket for particular groups of items. You can also easily practice this.

5. Group Families and buy - This is very uncommon practice among Bangalore city families, but intelligent people frequently uses this. They group couple of families and list the common items all of them required to purchase regularly. Then would buy such items from the wholesale market in a deal price. This is a good idea to save lots of money and more than one family get benefited with the deal.

Using intelligent practices and ideas to purchase groceries is a great way to save lots of money. Ideas such as grouping families and identify common items that all required, then purchasing such items as bulk from wholesale shops save lots of money. Such practices can protect families to save lots of money over the period of time. If vegetable prices increases further, these ideas have high importance to protect money losing purchases.
